In 1989, we programmed the last demo for the Commodore C64. In the same year,
the first Fido BBS system (a pre Internet system) located in Wuppertal went online!

The demo group name indirectly has to do with the "San Francisco 49ers" football team (although the site programmer was born there). It describes people who traveled to the California Sierra Nevada foothills after gold was 1st discovered in 1849, an area where the site programmer was frequently during it's childhood years.
